my last wedding of 2014!
despite the infamous torrential winter rainstorm that hit northern california on the day the bridal party, family and friends were set to fly to mexico, everyone still made it to watch holly + ben get hitched on 12-13-14! in fact, everyone had a couple days before and after the wedding to embrace the hot humid weather, the refreshing pools and of course, the all-inclusive yumminess!
although holly + ben only wanted one photographer for their day, i easily convinced tk to run away with me for a couple days before the wedding began. i will be blogging a separate travel post later!
the wedding was – as one might imagine – a blast. actually, i have dreamt of going back multiple times since. vendor-wise, garza blanca resort had an incredible staff lead by the best wedding planner i think i have worked with. not only did she ask me my opinion from a photography standpoint (which helped the wedding ceremony and formal shots run so smoothly), she also made sure i was fed and hydrated all day long, that i had plenty of time to photograph the reception area (rare) and that tk and i enjoyed dinner and a yummy margarita (once all the dancing began, of course). i give credit to not only their 5-star professionalism but also a combination of the warm and hospitable mexican culture.
let’s just say, tk and i wish we did our wedding the ben + holly way. escape to an amazing resort with my closest friends and family. lay-out with margaritas all day before and a few days after. oh, and embrace every single taco doused with hot sauce that i could.
congrats mr. and mrs. chirko!
