when rhiannon reached out to me about photographing her destination wedding in northern california, i was so happy to hear her describe a small, intimate, destination wedding (i had one too!). she expressed how it was important to focus on not only her union with kyle but also her union with kyle’s adorable son, boston. she envisioned a small intimate ceremony surrounded by her fifty closest family + friends in a beautiful mountain property south of eureka. her vision came to life in august as she exchanged emotional vows with kyle before exchanging “i do’s” with him and boston. rhiannon began her written vows by stating “i have loved you for 723 days…” it was such a precious, raw moment between the three of them, that i actually let out an “ahhh!” (believe me, i try to stay as quiet as possible during ceremonies…try the key word.)
by far, the best moment of the night was when rhiannon made an special request to kyle’s father + stepfather to dance with her for the daughter-father dance since they have filled the role of a father in her life. there was not a dry eye in attendance. such a precious moment to experience.
mr. + mrs. martinez, your wedding was so wonderful. your love for one another and for your family is evident. it was an honor capturing your day. i hope you had a fabulous time on your honeymoon at disnleyland with boston!
