oh my, the carmel mission.
monterey on an october day.
lavender bridesmaid dresses.
succulents.
non-stop laughing groomsmen.
stunning bride.
and dapper groom.

shooting in monterey/carmel is amazing. it has been three years since i did a wedding there and i was so happy to return this past october for chad and meghan’s wedding. the weather was such a tease that day. one moment, blissfully overcast. the next, bright beautiful beach sun. i love the mood each lighting brings to the day. from our first meeting, meghan and chad were all about making sure they spend as much time with their guests. i personally prefer when formal time is shorter so the bride and groom can laugh with their wedding party, drink cocktails with their friends and embrace those who are there to celebrate. it keeps it real and is what the wedding day is about. we were able to sneak away to the beach for ten minutes along the 17 mile road on the way to their reception for some seaside portraits. and then a quick four minute break during cocktail hour to capture their love in the luscious golden hour light.

and to top it off, the live band. not only were they a riot to eat with [spoiler alert: it can get quite crazy in the vendor room!] but they had the dance floor lit all night. when i went to say farewell to meghan and chad, they were both on top of the world with happiness.

that’s the best way to say good night.
