reformation day.

i am excited to say that reformation day 2011 is the first year that i actually understand the vitality of martin luther’s conviction to stand up to the catholic church. i am blown away that a 33-year-old man had the courage to do what he did. stand up for what he believed in against the political and spiritual influences of the times. now in a modern world that is so worried about “steping on toes” and being politically correct, so many mouths have shut. so many actions have subsided. so many
convictions have been oppressed. i personally have failed countless times in standing up for what i believe. whether it be by being a passive friend or turning my back when injustice is happening, i have failed. it is only by the Grace of God’s forgiveness that i can begin each day anew and find the courage in His word to take a stand against the injustice and lies of the world that we confront daily. i ask Jesus to daily open my eyes and open my ears in a world that is drowning in its silence.

Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Ephesians 6:13-14.

happy reformation day.
may you find the courage to stand for what you believe when the anticipated retaliation could only be pain. may you find joy in the pain of truth.
