DYI oakland temple wedding part 1

this wedding was a little unique for me. for starters, i didn’t meet with the bride until a few weeks before her wedding since she lives in utah. second, she didn’t hire me originally but her sweet mother did =) and i wasn’t able to meet the groom until the night we did their bridal portraits. as a photographer, this could have gone one of two ways. usually it is very important for me to connect with the bride and groom to see if we are a good match for one another before booking. fortunately enough, i easily connected with the mother-of-the-bride and felt that i would fit their vision of the wedding day. it turns out that this wedding was the golden child of all my weddings.

michaela & quinton were married in the oakland temple on saturday. so we met up night before to do bridal portraits in san francisco. when i first met michaela, she mentioned that they wanted wedding photos that represented their fun-loving personalities and really showed their connection. i knew then that my vision for a lemonade stand session was theirs! and of course, my wonderful husband made it happen. i cannot wait to share part 2 of their wedding at the temple and their over-the-top-adorable-DIY-backyard-wedding-reception!

future brides, you are going to want to take notes.
